Personalized Counseling for Debt, Budgeting and Credit

As a Texas Legal member, you can meet one-on-one with a certified financial coach from BALANCE and get help with your financial needs. A BALANCE coach can help you come up with a debt management plan, review your spending and help you budget or take a look at your credit report and help you make a plan to improve your credit score. Your path to financial fitness doesn’t need to be one you walk alone. A BALANCE coach can help you find your way!

Student Loan Coaching

Making the choice to take out a student loan can be nervewracking. Figuring out how to repay a student loan can be even harder. If you’re trying to figure out how to pay for college or navigating student loan repayment, a BALANCE counselor can help. Get the help of an expert who can guide you through the complexity of the various programs. A BALANCE counselor can explain your options and take into account your personal financial circumstances.

Homeownership Coaching and Pathways to Homeownership

If you’re looking to buy a home or are having trouble keeping your current home, BALANCE can help. They offer homeownership coaching to help you understand and navigate the process of buying a home. Their counselors can also help with preventing foreclosure and counseling about reverse mortgages. If you need to complete a certified course on homeownership for your loan program, BALANCE also offers Pathways to Homeownership, an online course that will educate you about the process and responsibilities of buying a home.

Rental Coaching

With more and more people choosing to rent, it’s helpful to have someone on your side who can help you navigate the process. A BALANCE counselor can help you develop a plan that will help you build a good rental history and manage your money well. BALANCE’s rental counselors can help you you develop a personalized spending plan and provide you with advice for saving money, increasing income, and reducing debt.

Numerous Educational Opportunities and Resources

Most of us struggle in financial matters because we don’t have the knowledge we need to make good decisions. BALANCE offers numerous articles, videos and webinars to help you learn about all kinds of financial topics. Once you’re armed with knowledge, you’ll be able to make better decisions and have a more positive financial future.

Watch Webinars and Win!

Speaking of educational opportunities, BALANCE is offering an amazing contest starting January 28th called Webinar for the Win. Register as a BALANCE user on the Texas Legal BALANCE website and sign up to watch a webinar. For each webinar you register for and finish watching, you’ll be entered into a contest to win $1000.
