Texas Legal Announces New Plans and Additional Benefits for 2016
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AUSTIN, Texas—Texas Legal, the statewide nonprofit legal insurance plan founded by the State Bar of Texas and the Texas Legislature, announced today new plans and additional benefits for 2016—adding to an already extensive list of services. Texas Legal membership covers legal expenses much like health insurance covers medical expenses. A low monthly premium provides Texas Legal members access to a network of attorneys throughout the state, with no further cost (subject to plan limitations).
Beginning in 2016, Texas Legal will offer two plans for individuals and two plans for groups—a robust plan as well as an affordable option that has a slightly scaled-down offering of legal services. Texans can register for these plans before the new year, starting on Nov. 26.
“We are pleased to offer a full range of benefit choices for Texans,” James W. Buck, president of Texas Legal, said. “This will allow Texas Legal members to tailor their legal services with an option that best suits their needs and budgets.”
For independent members, a plan covering estate planning and name changes will range from $15 to $20 monthly. Plans that include all of Texas Legal’s services will range from $26 to $40 monthly. Prices vary depending on coverage for single persons versus families. Family coverage includes a spouse or domestic partner, and children up to the age of 26.
For groups, a plan covering estate planning and name changes will range from $10 to $15 monthly. Plans that include all of Texas Legal’s coverage options will range from $20 to $30 monthly.
New benefits available include identity theft monitoring through AllClearTM ID, the leader in customer security, focused on data breach preparation, response and recovery. Identity theft monitoring will report any stolen personal information belonging to the member through fast and secure alerts by phone.
Members will also have immediate access to an AllClearTM investigator, identity theft insurance coverage of $1 million, credit monitoring, and lost wallet protection.
Additional features available in 2016 include probate—the official proving of a will—family immigration assistance, expunction and order of nondisclosure—the act of erasing or sealing criminal records—as well as protective orders.
