Attorney Services Specialist
Full-Time
Reports to: Attorney Services Manager
Work Location: Austin, Texas
Texas Legal is a nonprofit 501(c)6 legal insurance program founded in 1972 by the State Bar of Texas and the Texas State Legislature in an effort to better meet the legal needs of Texans. Members pay premiums into the program and are eligible to seek legal services from a network of Participating Attorneys at virtually no cost to them.
Job Summary
Texas Legal is presently seeking an Attorney Services Specialist to assist with administrative duties related to our Attorney network. This position operates under the supervision of the Attorney Services Manager to assist Texas Legal Participating Attorneys with the execution of the Texas Legal program.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides prompt customer service and support to attorneys, their staff, and internal departments regarding enrollment, claims, or plan questions
- Process, track, and maintain addition and removal of attorneys from panel
- Utilize company database to document attorney correspondence and follow up on issues as needed
- Assist in enrolling new attorneys
- Professionally correspond with law offices to educate and answer questions, request documents, and to establish working relationships with attorneys and their staff
- Update Texas Legal website and provider portal with changes to attorney information
- Develop a solid understanding of fee schedule, benefits, and legal terminology relating to Texas Legal’s plans, policies, and provider reimbursement
- Administrative duties to include copying, mailing, ordering supplies, and assembling attorney welcome kits
- Assist in credentialing panel attorneys and annual attorney confirmation process
- Occasionally accompany Attorney Services Manager to events for the purpose of education and recruitment of new attorneys
- Collaborate with marketing to update and distribute attorney education materials
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft products including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Self-starter skilled in critical thinking as well as independent problem-solving
- Effectively able to establish priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Collaborative team player with the ability to establish positive and cooperative working relationships
- Prior experience in the legal industry, insurance, or employee benefits a plus

Member Services Specialist

Job Summary
Texas Legal is presently seeking a Member Service Specialist to field member and attorney inquires. The role also has extensive data entry responsibilities. This position operates as a part of the Member Services team to assist Texas Legal members and Participating Attorneys with the execution of the Texas Legal program.
Key Responsibilities
- Professionally handle incoming calls, including email inquiries to ensure that issues are resolved both promptly and accurately
- Educate audiences of various sizes regarding benefit plans
- Extensive data entry of incoming applications for enrollment in a benefit administration system and to document inquiries from members and attorneys
- Solid understanding of fee schedule, benefits and legal terminology relating to the plan
- Process claims in compliance with departmental policies and procedures regarding claims adjudication
- Verify member benefits and eligibility
- Assemble and mail new member packets and other requested information
- Perform general clerical duties to include, but not limited to, copying, faxing, mailing and filing
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional work ethic
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure
- Effectively able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Must be a self-starter while also being a collaborative team player
- Punctuality is critical strict adherence to the hours 8am -5pm Mon- Fri is required for this position
- Prior experience with either insurance or employee benefits preferred
