Elizabeth Hanshaw Winn currently serves as Assistant General Counsel to Central Health as an employee of the Travis County Attorney’s Office; she provides legal counsel on various healthcare and IT contractual matters. She previously served as the State Legal Director for the Secretary of State Elections Office where she served as subject matter expert before numerous legislative committees, administered the Texas Secretary of State’s Voting System Certification Program, provided 20+ years of election law training for small and large (800+) audiences, and implemented complex state and federal legislative enactments. While working at the former law firm in Shackelford, Knowles & Strickland, Houston, Texas, she practiced insurance defense law, including other areas of law. She currently serves as Treasurer of the Health Law Division of the Austin Bar Association and is a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians. She has vast experience working in the community and has held various leadership positions with non-profit organizations, including serving in parliamentary roles and assisting with governance issues. Ms. Winn received her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center and has been a licensed attorney in Texas since 1988. She currently lives in Round Rock, Texas, is married to Michael B. Winn, and has an exciting time raising their middle schooler, Kaleb. She sings in the choir at Crosswork Christian Center, Round Rock, Texas. She is a native of South Mississippi.
